What is Required? CPT® codes are copyrighted by the American Medical Association (AMA). Your agreement with Context⁴ Healthcare, Inc. requires that you report and certify annually to Context the total number of users of the Context product types containing CPT® codes, as listed below. The AMA also requires Context to collect several other pieces of customer information, which are listed below.
The AMA’s Definition of a User: The AMA considers individuals CPT® users if they directly access CPT® data in a product. Anyone who can’t do a part of their job if AMA CPT® data disappears from a system or process is a user.
A “User” is further defined as an individual who: (a) accesses, uses, or manipulates the Licensed Materials; or (b) accesses, uses, or manipulates a program which includes the Licensed Materials to produce or enable an output (data, reports and the like) that could have been created without the Licensed Materials embedded in the program even though the Licensed Materials may not be visible or directly accessible; or (c) makes use of an output of a program which includes the Licensed Materials that relies on or could not have been created without the Licensed Materials embedded in the program even though the Licensed Materials may not be visible or directly accessible.
The AMA’s Definition of Members: A “Member” is defined as an individual with coverage under any health plan that is not a Medicare Fee for Service (or “Traditional Medicare”) plan. This includes individuals enrolled in plans where the health plan is providing Administrative Services Only (“ASO”).
