Description:

The Healthcare Data Scientist reports to the Vice President of Software Operations.  This position will analyze healthcare claims and demographic data to identify outliers, anomalies and predictive analytics that enable Context to develop actionable reports and dashboards to uncover potential areas of payment integrity concern for our clients.

The ideal candidate will also support the maintenance and development of Context4 Healthcare’s industry-leading Usual, Customary & Reasonable (UCR) fee schedule database products.

In addition, the Healthcare Data Scientist will work with other staff members to develop and maintain other Context4 Healthcare products using statistical models created against healthcare data.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Context4 Healthcare chooses not to employ people who require sponsorship for an employment visa, such as an H-1B visa.

The Candidate will be required to work in our Naperville, Illinois office. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Analyzing data, building models, and assessing their quality
  • Cleansing healthcare data, for usability in statistical modeling
  • Model monitoring and performing quality assurance testing of results
  • Ad hoc statistical analyses on designated healthcare data
  • Identifying opportunities to apply statistics to create new products and improve product quality
  • Providing insights on claims trends and performance metrics
  • Analyzing and interpreting healthcare claims data (leveraging access to third party data sources and analytic tools) to identify trends and costs drivers and assist with creating custom dashboard reporting

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient in SAS statistical programming package
  • Proficient in SQL or similar database access query languages
  • Proficient is Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel)
  • Experience working with large databases
  • Minimum of five years’ professional experience researching, cleansing, and analyzing large blocks of data, interpreting results, and clearly articulating findings, either in a health payer or a consulting firm servicing health payers
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly communicate analysis results to non-statistical audiences
  • Familiarity with healthcare claims coding
  • Proven ability to uncover outliers, anomalies and to create predictive analytics in healthcare and benefits related data to identify actionable solutions
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, math, quantitative economics, industrial engineering, or a similar area
